Rock With Me and Dance is a Early Childhood Dance Education Development Program for children 8-weeks to 5-years old. Families can bond together, having fun through dance and fitness in a safe and loving environment. We also offer a range of infant, child and family events through out the year while supporting local children’s education, safety and wellness programs, financially supporting missions, human trafficking rescue programs and fundraising for local families in crisis. RWMAD provides a safe and educational learning environment that also provides optional resources for caregivers, parents, and families.
Our mission is to “Build Families One Rock at a Time” through Early Childhood Development play-based learning, healthy bonding, and socialization by facilitating their sensory gross motor, physiological, cognitive, emotional, social, and neurological development.
Our Vision: Is to provide a fun, positive learning atmosphere where your child can grow developmentally and confidently. Your young babies and tots will learn an appreciation for music, dance, imaginative play, and storytelling, all while learning pre-academic, pre-ballet, and early tumbling skills. Once your child is ready socially and emotionally, the instructor will encourage you to enroll your toddler into one of the Hugo’s Gym Fitness classes that is suitable for him/her in the big gym. Instructor may also refer your 5–6 year olds to a local children’s ballet and dance program suitable for each child. We want to see your child feel accomplished in every way with a sense of pride and an “I CAN DO IT ALL BY MYSELF” mindset. These are the most critical development years filled with the building blocks for their future.
Mariesha Garner grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, where she developed a love for the arts and athletics as a child.
She grew up dancing, studying flute and performing in the local dance studio then later received her BFA in Dance Performance from The Ohio State University's Modern Dance Program in 2003. Mariesha received training in Modern Dance, Ballet, African, Hip-Hop, Composition, History, and Children's Education in her studies along with outside training from Funk Style legends Popin Pete,Greg Campbellock Jr. and Toni Basil. Upon graduating OSU, she was hired as Adjunct Dance Faculty at Indiana University , Cal State Northridge and Pomona College. Garner has over 15 years teaching adult and children's dance in prominent dance studios and gymnastics facilities across the country.
In 2014, Mariesha and her husband welcomed their little boy who inspired Rock With Me and Dance™ classes . After recovering from her C-Section, she created “Babywearing Hip-Hop Dance ™ and The Rock With Me and Dance™ program. Being a professional dancer and teacher, she simply wanted to continue to take dance class while wearing her son while exposing him to the physiological benefits. This birthed the foundations of Rock With Me and Dance which led to research in Brain Dance and the beginnings of the RWMAD Early Childhood Dance Education Program. While expanding the program, her vision became “to help cultivate the family bond, stimulate babies' brain and sensory motor development, educate parents, caregivers, and baby care professionals on the developmental and emotional benefits of primary bonding and dancing.”. Mariesha is taking Early Childhood classes at COC while volunteering in the Dance and Children’s Ministry at her church. She is a singer/songwriter and currently volunteers as a Babywearing leader in SCV. Mariesha’s mission is “Building Families One Rock at a Time” encouraging caregivers’ to bond with their babies through dance while stimulating their babies sensory gross motor development.
She is excited to share her heart and knowledge as she recently joins the staff at Hugo’s GymFitness in Santa Clarita, To The Pointe Dance and Pilates and The Paseo Club.
